iNeuron® - Interactive Neuroscience Education
iNeuron® is an interactive game-like approach to teaching neuroscience and mental health concepts at the classroom level and beyond. iNeuron teaches key concepts by transforming a set of handheld electronic devices into functionally connected neurons to solve sets of story-based, neuroscience challenges. Funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) as part of the Innovative Neuroscience K-12 Education program, the objective of iNeuron is to provide an engaging, hands-on, learning environment that leverages mobile computing devices and their increasing prevalence in classrooms. iNeuron is expected to increase K-12 student and general public understanding of normal nervous system functions as well as drug interactions, and mental and neurological disorders. It will support NIH and Federal goals for neuroscience education and numerous state standards including those from Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.
